Parties Prenantes
Who to talk to first, and how
An interactive map to place the audiences of a project according to their influence and interest. The tool shows how to address each zone, and where to start.
The problem
In front of a sensitive project, we first communicate to those who speak the loudest, not to those who matter the most. The Influence-Interest Matrix is a classic of communication schools, but it remains a diagram drawn on a painting, which one never does again and which does not say what to do next.
What I did
I transformed the matrix into a tool: we add our audiences, we place them by dragging them, we specify if they are favorable, neutral or opposite. I wrote what to do for each of the four areas and the rule that highlights influential opponents and influential supporters. Design, design and development carried out alone.
The result
A readable card at a glance, accompanied by a map per zone and a passing order: who see before any announcement, on whom to lean to convey the message. Everything is printed on a page, to be discussed in a meeting.
What I learned
The attitude changes everything: two audiences placed in the same place do not treat each other in the same way depending on whether they support the project or oppose it. I added it to the classic matrix, which ignores it. I also limited the map to fifteen audiences: beyond that, we no longer map, we identify.
Autonomy: share of the project built on my own, without a developer. Maturity: progress, from idea to a product people use.

An idea to test, a project to launch?
Let's talk: one message is enough.
